Mental Health
Psychological support includes three essential components:
Initial session where we get to know each other and discuss your concerns and goals. We then agree on a treatment plan.
Psychological therapy. The focus here is on building coping skills, easing symptoms, and processing difficult experiences.
Therapy ending where we discuss the most helpful parts of your treatment and make a plan to help you carry on.
I use evidence-based therapies to help you meet your goals, including:
Cognitive Behaviour Therapy
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
You can expect a therapeutic experience that is safe and open-hearted, based in mutual respect, and a genuine interest in your story and helping you thrive in life.
Therapy is available in-person and online via Zoom.

Diagnosis of Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder in adulthood is not only possible, but often transformational to the lives of my clients. The way ADHD symptoms show up day-to-day is different for everyone. Some people have made external adaptations to lessen the burden of symptoms on their functioning; while others still need help with that.
Areas of life often affected by ADHD include family and parenting, relationships, work, rest and leisure, emotional functioning, and self-image. No two people will experience ADHD in the same way, which is why the assessments must be completed by clinicians highly experienced in working with neurodivergent clients.

The growing awareness of how Autism can present, particularly in people with lesser practical support needs, has changed in the last decade. Many clients come to see me struggling with chronic, profound distress and wondering about the possibility of a missed childhood diagnosis. They are seeking answers, a validation for their lifelong struggles, and a new framework for understanding past experiences and creating a new self-identity.
I work with clients who often struggle with unseen challenges of Autism, such as masking, anxiety, and burnout. They have trouble interpreting internal sensory signals which are crucial in areas such as self-care, emotional regulation, and decision making. They remember instances of being misunderstood socially and have often experienced trauma throughout their life. Or they may have only become aware of symptoms during a diagnostic assessment of their child.
If you think you have characteristics of Autism, I can help you find out for certain.

During an Autism assessment, it is quite common to also wonder about the possibility of ADHD. In fact, it is estimated that between 40% and 70% of autistic adults also meet diagnostic criteria for ADHD. AuDHD requires careful consideration as it influences use of specific diagnostic questioning and a tailored approach to recommendations.

Cognitive assessment
Neuropsychological assessments are used to test how a person thinks and behaves, often in the context of concerns raised by the person, their family, or medical professionals. They provide an insight into how the person is doing and what supports and strategies they may require now and in the future.
I am specifically trained and experienced in conducting Neuropsychological assessments and cognitive assessments with adults. That includes general intellectual functioning, helping clients with ADHD and Autism understand their strengths and challenges in thinking skills, and comprehensive assessments after brain injury, stroke, and in dementia. I authored a research study which focused on cognitive complaints reported after mild traumatic brain injury.
